Project Hierarchy
Overview
With the help of the Agile Hive project hierarchies defined in ‘My Organization’ by Agile Hive Administrators, you can map the three SAFe® levels Portfolio, Large Solution, and Essential (ART & Team) as well as the business units (Jira projects like an ART or Team project) located therein.
Use the My Organization canvas to build and manage your Jira projects as a SAFe® structure. The project hierarchy provides the foundation for Agile Hive’s Issue Hierarchy as it defines the underlying connections between units working on the various SAFe® layers.
The SAFe® levels are represented as horizontal layers. When you hover over one of the elements within a layer, the vertical relationships representing, for example, a business unit, are shown as a shaded node across the layers, making it easy to identify the context a specific unit is active in.
Navigation Sidebar
Even when any role is working within a specific project in a specific scaling layer, the left main navigation pane is visible.
The left-hand navigation sidebar offers a comprehensive overview of all projects included in the Agile Hive project hierarchy within 'My Organization'. This feature provides a user-friendly method to navigate between projects of units operating at any SAFe® level.
Agile Hive's navigation sidebar dynamically adjusts to reflect any modifications made to the project hierarchy, ensuring all users stay updated.
Restrictions & Permissions
Agile Hive is designed to offer additional functionality to Jira while respecting the configurations and existing settings of the base system. This aspect is particularly crucial in terms of user permissions, establishing clear boundaries on the information accessible to any user of the site.
Agile Hive seamlessly mirrors Jira permissions both globally and at a project level. Consequently, users may encounter restrictions in accessing certain information, such as individual projects or issues. Within the 'My Organization' view of Agile Hive and the left-hand main navigation sidebar, a lack of 'Browse project' permission will result to placeholders being displayed to users, as illustrated in the screenshot below. This approach guarantees data security while offering a conceptual overview of the company's SAFe® project hierarchy:
