Agile Hive Migration Guideline

Agile Hive Migration Guideline

Currently it is not possible to automatically migrate Agile Hive data without assistance from our team. Please see Agile Hive Migration Guideline | Prepare your Cloud instance how to contact us for migration support - thank you!

Preparation

Before you consider migrating Agile Hive from Server or DC to Cloud, make sure to read through Atlassian's https://www.atlassian.com/migration/plan/cloud-guide first.

The Agile Hive migration relies on the standard Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA). This guide will walk you through the steps in the JCMA and adds the Agile Hive specific steps you need to migrate the data.

Installation and Configuration

The following links provide step-by-step guides on the preparation of the Jira Data Center instance, as well as the Jira Cloud instance.

  1. Prepare your Jira DC Instance - Guides you through the installation of the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant

  2. Prepare your Jira Cloud instance - Guides you through the installation of the Agile Hive Cloud Migration Helper app

Migrating your data from Data Center to Cloud

The migration of Agile Hive data is done with the JCMA and our Helper app. Once all the necessary steps from the previous paragraph are done, you can start the actual migration.

  1. Settings in Jira Cloud Migration Assistant - A step-by-step guide through the JCMA process up to running the actual migration

  2. Manual Migration Steps for Agile Hive Data After DC Migration - Migrating additional data from your DC instance into the Cloud instance after the JCMA migration is finished

In case of problems or errors in the dry-run due to arger instances - Advice on handling large amounts of projects

After the migration

After all projects are successfully migrated you can do the following things on your Cloud site

  • Delete the Work Item Link Type, that was used in DC for managing the Work Hierarchy (as in Cloud, the Work Hierarchy is managed through Work Item properties, see Work Item Hierarchy) – by default, the Work Item Link Type is called “Agile Hive Link”
