Manage Agile Hive Work Types



Introduction

Agile Hive comes with predefined Work Types for projects on every SAFe® layer. To easily make your Jira projects SAFe®-friendly, you will need to add the Work Types provided by Agile Hive as they adhere to the official framework methodology.

There’s no obligation to use the built-in Work Types of Agile Hive. In case your site has well-established Work Types already available you can configure them in Agile Hive and still experience the full featureset of the app. Learn more about how to use existing Work Types with your projects in Agile Hive here: Agile Hive Project Settings.

Prerequisites

Make sure you’re logged in with a Jira user holding at least Jira Administrator permission.

Agile Hive comes with the Work Types listed below:

Create Agile Hive Work Types

Navigate to the ‘Apps’ section of global Jira Administration:

Select ‘Agile Hive Administration’ from the left hand sidebar and navigate to the ‘Issue Types’ tab.

Since Agile Hive does not automatically generate any Jira entities in your site, you have to explicitly tell the app to generate the built-in Work Types. Click the ‘Create Issue Types’ button in order to generate all of the Work Types in your Jira site.

You will then receive a notification that the Work Types were created and the status for each Work Type should be updated from missing to ready.

Troubleshooting

In case one or more Work Types cannot be created please make sure that no other Work Type with the same name already exists in your Jira site.
