Introduction
Reports for projects on the ART level provide all relevant information on the ART’s PI and iteration progress, milestones, objectives & risks, and dependencies.
You can use the PI selector on the right-hand side of the Report header section in order to display the Report of the selected ART for another PI.
ART Report Widgets
Agile Hive provides a variety of Report widgets for projects on the ART level so you can keep track of PI Progress, Milestones, Objectives, Risks, and Dependencies - all in one place. All ART Reports are based on performance aggregated for all Teams assigned with the ART.
PI Progress
PI Progress widget consists of 6 individual metrics providing deeper insight of how the selected PI is progressing so far.
PI Progress
This widget visualizes the portion of the PI that has already passed and also shows the days remaining in the PI.
SP Burned
This widget visualizes the portion of planned Story Points that have already been completed and also shows the ratio of completed Story Points to the total Story Points planned for the PI. On the ART level, data of all Teams assigned with the ART in ‘My Organization’ are aggregated for this metric.
In combination with the ‘PI Progress’ widget it can be a quick indicator of the ART’s performance in the selected PI.
Business Value Delivered
This widget visualizes the portion of Business Value already delivered and also shows the ratio of Actual Business Value to Plan Business Value based on the Objectives of Teams assigned with the ART for the selected PI. On the ART level, data of all Teams assigned with the ART in ‘My Organization’ are aggregated for this metric.
To get a detailed overview of all Objectives assigned with the selected PI take a look at the ART PI Objectives widget.
In case there are Objectives assigned with the selected PI that have Actual and / or Plan Business Value not set, the widget displays a warning icon.
Load vs. Cap
This widget visualizes the portion of the available ART capacity for the selected PI that is already occupied by planned stories. Additionally, the widget shows the ratio of planned Story Points (Load) to the total capacity available in the selected PI for the ART (Cap).
ART capacity and load are being aggregated based on capacity and load of all Teams assigned with the selected ART.
In case there are issues planned in a Team for the PI that have not yet been estimated, the widget displays a warning icon.
Critical Dependencies
This widget visualizes the number of unresolved critical dependencies between issues planned for the selected PI. You can access further details regarding these dependencies by referring to the 'Dependency Overview' widget in the same Report.
As of , the widget exclusively focuses on unresolved critical dependencies within the current ART. However, we plan to expand this functionality in the future.
Velocity
This widget displays the ART’s average velocity of the 5 PIs prior to the selected one.
Burnup Chart
This widget provides a graphical representation of the ART’s total workload, progress (Story Points burned), and a forecast specifically tailored for the selected PI. The Story Point data is being aggregated across all Teams working in the selected ART. Hover over any data point in the chart area to view detailed information for the corresponding date.
The Burnup Chart displays a single data point for each previous day of the selected PI. Furthermore, it consistently calculates data for the current date based on real-time information.
Please be aware that there might be a slight delay of a few minutes in providing real-time information due to technical constraints.
Understanding the Burnup Chart
The Burnup Chart’s axis represent the following information:
Vertical axis: Measures Story Points for the total planned scope, burned scope, as well as ideal burnup indication and forecast.
Horizontal axis: Denotes the timeframe in days for the selected PI. It also outlines each of the PI’s iterations to provide enhanced orientation.
“Today”: Represents the timely progress in the selected PI by highlighting the current date in the Burnup Chart.
In the chart area, four lines are dedicated to presenting the key details about the planned scope and progress for the selected PI:
FORECAST The grey line represents the projected scope to be completed during the remaining duration of the selected PI. This projection is derived from historical velocity and the total Story Points burned up to this point.
IDEAL The orange line represents the optimal burnup for the selected PI, based on the current total scope. The ideal burnup line does not include iterations designated as IP (Innovation & Planning).
TOTAL The purple line represents the total scope planned for the selected PI.
BURNED The green line represents the Story Points burned up to this point for the selected PI.
Milestone Overview
This widget shows a list of all ART Milestones planned for the selected PI.
For each Milestone, the widget provides the Milestone Date as well as a counter that indicates how many days are left to prepare for the Milestone (or how many days have passed since the Milestone event took place).
You can receive more information on a specific Milestone by clicking on its summary.
To add a new Milestone, simply click the '+' button in the top right corner of the widget to open Jira Create Issue dialogue.
Dependency Overview
This widget gives an overview of all dependencies that are considered CRITICAL or AT RISK between issues of the current ART and that are planned for the selected PI.
The table is arranged so that the issue needing work is displayed in the left column, and the issue requiring the delivery of work is shown in the right column. In the middle column, there’s a colored arrow that indicates both the criticality of the dependency and its direction.
As soon as an issue of the dependency is resolved, the dependency itself will be reflected in this Report widget as resolved as well.
As of , the widget exclusively focuses on unresolved critical dependencies within the current ART. However, we plan to expand this functionality in the future.
ART PI Overview
This widget offers an overview of all ART-level issues, categorized by their respective parent issue at the Portfolio or Solution Train level, that are being worked on by at least one Team in the selected PI.
For each issue, the widget provides detail information like WSJF, Job size, Assignee, Progress (based on SP burned), a breakdown of SP per issue status category, as well as an overview of SP distribution based on Teams contributing value.
You can collapse / expand the table in case of a large number of issues or if you want to focus on ART issues of a specific parent.
To dig deeper into the issues of a specific Team simply click the Team project’s icon in the right-hand section of the table to navigate to the Team-level Report in Agile Hive.
You can display all information for any issue in a new browser tab by clicking on its issuekey.
ART PI Objectives
This widget shows a list of all ART Objectives associated with the selected PI (via the Agile Hive Custom Field ‘Assigned PIs’). The overview contains a total of three sections - Two sections for both Committed and Uncommitted ART PI Objectives, plus an additional section that contains an overview of Business Value Delivered of all Teams working in the ART for the selected PI.
The widget also provides ART Business Value Delivered for the selected PI based on the average Business Value Delivered across all Teams working in the ART.
To dig deeper into the Objectives of a specific Team simply click the Team project’s panel in the ‘Team Progress’ section of the widget to navigate to the Team-level Report in Agile Hive.
You can display all information for any Objective in a new browser tab by clicking on its issuekey.
ART PI Risks
This widget shows a list of all ART Risks associated with the selected PI (via the Agile Hive Custom Field ‘Assigned PIs’).
For each Risk the table displays the Status as well as Exposure and Residual Exposure. Both of the latter are calculated on the basis of (Residual) Probability and (Residual) Impact for each Risk.
You can display all information for any Risk in a new browser tab by clicking on its issuekey.
